The Poppies at South Stoke
The downland near South Stoke village in Oxfordshire.
A large blanket of red poppies appeared on White Hill opposite the South Stoke Airdrome and although I'm not sure if they were wild or farmed, they made a fantastic backdrop for a whole series of paintings which I am working on.
This watercolour is a preliminary work before I move into the oils.
