The Middle Eastern Influence

I moved to the UAE in early 2004 where I spent two years working as a graphic designer in Dubai. During this time I also made a number of visits to Oman and was very impressed and inspired by its rich heritage and culture.

I returned to the UK in 2006 and started work on a set of four decorative oil paintings based on elements of Arabic culture.

In late 2006 I went back to Oman as part of a cultural trip with my father Patrick Dillon who was having discussions at Sultan Qaboos University about the possibility of research in the field of cultural heritage education.

I presented my four oil paintings to our hosts who received them on behalf of His Majesty the Sultan of Oman.

The paintings are now displayed in prominent government buildings in Muscat.
